Greek Life is not for everyone, however we strongly encourage people to explore the possibility of Greek Life and everything that it has to offer. How long is the pledging process?
Triangle’s pledging process is an 8 week period.
Does Triangle haze?
No. Penn State chapter Triangle is committed towards providing an environment of friendship and personal development; therefore there is no room to haze.
Are Brothers required to live in house?
Yes, but only for one year at Penn State
Do you participate in Homecoming or THON?
Yes, we participate in both THON and Homecoming. In fact, we consistently build one of the Best homecoming floats year after year
How much time is required during the pledging process?
A survey of our most recent pledge class indicates that on average they spent 3-4 hours a week participating in Triangle activities.
What is involved in the pledging process?
Our pledging process involves getting to know the brothers, and local and national history of the organization.
Will Triangle interfere with my academics?
We will never ask you to place Triangle above your academics. We will take the necessary steps to ensure that you make it your top priority, as well. Additionally, we all share very similar classes and majors so nearly anyone in the house can help you with your academics. Triangle’s cumulative GPA is above the all-men’s average GPA for Penn State which shows that academics are important to us.
What are the expenses of Triangle?
Pledge dues are $350, which will be reimbursed if you maintain a GPA of 3.5 during the pledging process. For more information see Studious Pledge Scholarship on the Scholarship page. After pledging, there are Brother’s dues of $500 per semester. Rent is $1700 per semester for a standard room. Rooms include all utilities (cable, internet, heat, etc.), furniture (desk, closet, bed, shelves), and free access to our washer and dryer. Rent for brothers during the summer is $250 a month with all utilities still included. If this seems expensive, we offer many local scholarships to offset the cost of living.
